Presentation : who am I ?

My name is Tristan Fontanière, student in computer science at the IUT 2 of Grenoble University. After a high school diploma majoring in English, Mathematics and Biology, I decided to go in computer science to specialize into one of my interests. I had the opportunity, during my third year of BUT, to participate in the Erasmus program and go in Romania My objective is to upgrade my skills especially in server and network administration which is my majoring.

My interests

Japanese animation

I love to watch animes and read mangas. I currently watched more than 200 series.

Video games

Since I'm young I often play many video games. My favorite games are fps and gachas.

Music

I listen to many different music styles. Jpop, american rock, soundtracks, I have more than 70 hours of music in my playlist.

Theater

I spent many time in drama clubs in middle and high school. I loved being on the scene and interpret characters.

Cooking

I may not be very good but I love cooking and discovering meals from around the world.

Nature

I'm found of watching animals and plants in their natural habitat, my favorite animals are reptiles. I am especially aware of preserving nature.

Erasmus year in Romania

Like I said in my presentation, I did my third year of BUT at University Politehnica of Bucarest. I mostly went there to follow courses in english, but also to gain independence. It also allowed me to discover a new way of working and studying even though I did not like it. Moreover, it was a rich human experience where I was able to discover a new culture, meet new people and learn about new mentalities.
On a study point of view, it allowed me to strengthen my skills in development because a lot of my courses were focused on this. I was also able to learn a lot more about cybersecurity, networks, operating systems which interested me a lot considering my speciality and what I like. Finally, it obviously allowed me to get a lot better in english to the point that I can speak easily in english on a daily base about anything.

In the future

  1. Master degree or Engineering school

    I wish to keep on my studies to acquire more knowledge and obtain a diploma that allows me to teach.

  2. Working in a company or a laboratory

    I wish to start my career in a company or as a research engineer. This will allow me to have concrete knowledge and experiences. I will also practice computer science in real and useful situations.

  3. Teacher of computer science in High School

    Since a long time I wish to become a teacher and I hope to start this job in high school. Later I may try to go teach in universities by becoming a PhD student.
